By Angelo Coralini, CEO of Create · A Doctors Cyprus case study
We helped Dr. Dimitrios Grigoriou reach Google’s first page for high-intent gynaecologist searches in English and Greek. Within the supplied 92-day Search Console period, his website earned 261 clicks, appeared 14,659 times and held an overall average position of 3.41.
Most prospective patients do not begin with a doctor’s name. They search for “gynecologist Nicosia”, “gynecologist near me” or “γυναικολογοι λευκωσια”. The strategy was to make Dr. Grigoriou visible for those real searches, then give visitors the professional information, service detail and direct contact route needed to assess the practice.

The strongest positions came from non-branded searches describing the specialty, location or appointment need. Across the export, 40 query variations with at least 10 impressions averaged position 3 or better.
Visibility also strengthened during the reporting window. The first 30 days generated 55 clicks from 4,646 impressions; the final 30 days generated 103 clicks from 4,620 impressions. That is an 87% increase in clicks on a similar volume of impressions, while the combined click-through rate rose from 1.18% to 2.23%.
These are comparisons within one reporting window, not a controlled before-and-after experiment. Search performance varies by location, device, competition and time.
What we built, and why
Dr. Dimitrios Grigoriou is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist in Nicosia providing pregnancy, gynaecology and women’s health care. The project combined medical website design, bilingual content, search visibility, analytics and reporting into one connected digital presence.
1. A medical website built around patient intent
We created the Dr. Dimitrios Grigoriou website around a clear entity and location: an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist in Nicosia. The homepage introduces the doctor and the practice, while dedicated About, Services, Insights and Contact pages give visitors clear routes to the information they need.
This also gives search engines a more coherent structure to interpret. The doctor, specialty, city, qualifications, services and contact information are presented consistently instead of being scattered across unrelated profiles.
2. Dedicated pages for obstetrics, gynaecology and surgery
The site separates the three main areas of care into focused sections. The obstetrician services page covers pregnancy monitoring, high-risk pregnancy management and specialist procedures. The gynaecology services page covers preventive care, fertility, menopause and screening, while a dedicated surgery page explains minimally invasive procedures.
That separation helps a visitor move from a broad search to the exact area of care they want to understand. It also gives each topic enough depth to compete for a relevant group of searches.
3. English and Greek versions for the market patients actually use
The website is available in English and Greek. This is essential in Cyprus, where people may search for the same specialty using different languages, accents and spellings.
The result is visible in the data. English searches such as “gynecologist Nicosia” and Greek searches such as “γυναικολογοι λευκωσια” both placed the website near the top of Google. The bilingual structure supports discovery without forcing every searcher into one language.
4. Trust built into the path from search to contact
The About page presents Dr. Grigoriou’s medical education, specialist training, MSc in Applied Prenatal Testing and postgraduate certification in laparoscopic surgery. Service pages explain the scope of care, and the Contact page gives patients a direct appointment route.
Search visibility earns attention. Professional credentials, specific service information and a clear contact path help turn that attention into a credible healthcare journey.
5. A connected presence with measurement from day one
Google Search Console records the searches, impressions, clicks and average positions behind this case study. Google Analytics records how people used the website after arriving. Dr. Grigoriou also has a detailed Doctors Cyprus profile, creating another trusted route through which people can discover his expertise and connect with the practice.
Measurement makes the next move clearer. Instead of guessing which topics matter, the practice can see which searches already create visibility and where fuller content, stronger internal links or better search snippets could produce more qualified visits.
The Google rankings: English and Greek
The core result is visibility for searches that describe a gynaecologist, location or appointment need, beyond searches for the doctor’s own name. The tables below show selected non-branded queries from the supplied Search Console export for 30 May–29 August 2026.

Source: Google Search Console, Web search. Average position is a period average, not a fixed rank for every searcher. Queries retain the spelling recorded in the export, and query-level exports can omit anonymised searches.
Cyprus generated 238 of the 261 Google clicks, approximately 91% of the total. The visibility was concentrated in the country and market the practice serves.
Mobile visibility matters for a local medical search
Mobile devices produced 197 of the 261 Search Console clicks, approximately 75%. That makes the mobile journey central to the result: a visitor needs to understand the doctor, services, location and contact options without struggling through a desktop-first layout.
The website was therefore designed to preserve the same hierarchy on smaller screens. The specialty and city appear early, services remain easy to scan, and appointment routes stay visible throughout the journey.
What visitors did after they reached the website
Google Analytics recorded 556 active users, 547 new users, 4,600 events and 38 seconds of average engagement time per active user from 3 June to 31 August 2026. Google organic search was the largest measured session source, generating 343 sessions.
The English homepage received 700 views and the Greek homepage 190. The Contact page received 120 views, the About page 107 and the broader Obstetrics and Gynaecology page 92. Those paths show visitors moving beyond the landing page to assess the doctor, services and appointment route.
The supplied reports do not include form submissions, phone-call attribution, qualified enquiries or confirmed appointments. We therefore report website activity and search visibility without presenting visits as leads.
Evidence of AI-assisted discovery
The Analytics report recorded 18 sessions from chatgpt.com / ai-assistant, with 15 active users attributed to ChatGPT as their first user source. That is direct evidence that the website was already being discovered through an AI-assisted route during the reporting period.
The site supports this through the same foundations that help organic search: a clearly identified doctor and specialty, dedicated service pages, bilingual content, consistent internal links, an XML sitemap and an llms.txt file listing public, indexable pages.
This does not establish placement in Google AI Overviews or guarantee future citations. It does show that AI referral traffic is measurable, which turns “AI visibility” from an abstract idea into something the practice can monitor.
Why the strategy worked
- One clear entity. The doctor’s name, specialty and Nicosia location are presented consistently throughout the site.
- Pages mapped to patient intent. Obstetrics, gynaecology and surgical procedures each have dedicated, useful destinations.
- Two complete language journeys. English and Greek pages can each be discovered and understood independently.
- Trust before contact. Qualifications, services, reviews and practice details support the decision after the click.
- Measurement across search and site behaviour. Search Console and Analytics show both discovery and the next pages people visited.
- A wider professional footprint. The practice website and Doctors Cyprus profile reinforce the doctor’s online entity across connected, relevant pages.
The goal was not to rank for the doctor’s name alone. It was to make the practice visible when people searched for the specialty, city and care they needed.
What other doctors in Cyprus can learn from this
A medical website needs to do more than look professional. It must state clearly who the doctor is, where they practise, what they treat and how a patient can take the next step. Those answers should exist in the languages patients use and on pages that search engines can crawl independently.
That is the approach behind our medical website design and SEO and AI visibility services for doctors in Cyprus. We connect content, technical structure, bilingual publishing and reporting around the practice’s actual specialty and location.
If you are still deciding how patients should discover you, our advertising and doctor profile options provide another route into the Doctors Cyprus platform.
Frequently asked questions
What did the Dr. Grigoriou project include?
The project combined medical website design, English and Greek content, search optimisation, analytics, reporting and a connected Doctors Cyprus profile.
Which searches reached Google’s first page?
Selected examples include “gynecologist Nicosia”, “gynecologist near me”, “best gynecologist in Nicosia”, “γυναικολογοι λευκωσια” and “γυναικολογος λευκωσια”. All positions in this case study are period averages from the supplied Search Console export.
Why was a bilingual website important?
Patients in Cyprus search in both English and Greek. Complete language versions allow each audience to discover relevant pages and understand the practice without relying on one mixed-language page.
Did the website receive traffic from ChatGPT?
Yes. Google Analytics recorded 18 sessions from chatgpt.com / ai-assistant during 3 June–31 August 2026. That measures referral traffic; it does not prove placement in every AI answer or Google AI Overview.
Do these results guarantee the same rankings for another doctor?
No. Rankings depend on the specialty, location, competition, website history, content and continued optimisation. This case study documents one project and its supplied reporting periods.
Can patients find your practice when they search?
Tell us your specialty, city and current digital presence. We can map the website, content and reporting needed to make your practice easier to discover, understand and contact.
